Announcing the first-ever nonstop flights from New York City to Puglia, launching later this summer, TimeOut Magazine is effusive in its praise for Italy’s Puglia region. Singling out outstanding food options and some of the best wines in the world, they conclude “there’s a reason why the New York Times recently included Puglia in its coveted 52 Places to Go list.
“Often overlooked for the likes of Rome, Milan, Florence and Venice, cities in Puglia offer outstanding food options (the region is known as the “breadbasket of Italy”), some of the best wines in the world and the sorts of historical sites that will have you re-think your current living situation. There’s a reason why the New York Times included Puglia in its coveted 52 Places to Go in 2019 list.”
Neos, an Italian airline company, announced plans to launch what it claims to be the first-ever nonstop flights between Bari Karol Wojtyla Airport and John F. Kennedy International Airport. Set to debut on June 3 and operate through October 15, the flights will only depart NYC on Tuesdays at 4pm and arrive in Bari around 8am the next morning. The Bari-New York route, on the other hand, will operate on Wednesdays.
The new route will be serviced by Boeing 787-9s, each featuring 255 seats.
